Our editorial standards
Every article we publish is written to be accurate, useful, and honest. We aim to explain topics clearly, avoid hype, and give you the information you need to make a confident decision.
How we create content
Our guides to Arizona haunts, Halloween events, and things to do around Mesa and Phoenix, the pieces in our resource library, are written by people who run a haunted attraction and know the local scene firsthand. Drafts are informed by reputable sources and our own hands-on experience, and they go through an editorial review for clarity, accuracy, and tone before they are published.
Accuracy and firsthand experience
When we write about our own event, the facts come straight from the people who build and staff it. When we cover other places, dates, or attractions, we check the details against primary sources and note when something is subject to change, because season dates and hours move. Where an article carries a review date, it confirms the content was accurate and current as of that date.
Sourcing and citations
We cite primary, authoritative sources wherever a claim benefits from support: official event and venue pages, local tourism and city resources, and published reviews and press. When an article cites sources, they are listed in a Sources & references section at the end of the article so you can verify the information yourself.
Updates and corrections
We keep our content current. When information changes, we update the article and revise its "last updated" date; reviewed articles are re-checked and carry a "last reviewed" date. If you spot an error, please contact us. We take corrections seriously and act on them promptly.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to assist with research and drafting, but every published article is directed, edited, and verified by a person. We do not publish unedited AI-generated content, and expert-reviewed articles are always checked by a qualified human reviewer.
This policy is reviewed periodically to reflect our current practices.
