Before You Go

What to Know Before the Drive

A short desert run in October, fully outdoors, and built to be intense. Here is what to wear, who it is for, and how the night works, so you show up ready. For the full logistics, see plan your visit, and lock in dates and pricing on the ticket page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Dress for an outdoor adventure. Closed-toe shoes with sturdy soles are strongly recommended, and Mayhem in Madness and Startled Darkness require them with no exceptions. Leave high heels, flip-flops, sandals, and anything that drags on the ground at home.

Is Scarizona completely outdoors?

Yes. Scarizona Scaregrounds is an outdoor haunted attraction. You may encounter dirt, gravel, uneven ground, darkness, and other natural outdoor conditions. The desert is part of the show.

What happens if it rains?

A little rain will not scare us away. Scarizona may remain open during light rain, but severe weather could cause delays or closures. Check our website and social media before heading out.

Is the attraction scary?

That is the point. Expect darkness, loud noises, flashing lights, fog, tight spaces, frightening characters, and plenty of unexpected scares.

Is Scarizona appropriate for children?

Scarizona is designed to be intense and is not recommended for guests under 12, but parents and guardians know their children best. Remember: once the scares begin, our monsters do not take babysitting breaks. Mayhem in Madness carries its own stricter guidance and is not recommended under 10.

Can I get a refund if I get too scared?

Tickets are nonrefundable, including when a guest decides not to enter or leaves before completing an attraction. After all, getting scared is exactly what you came for.

Are you hiring?

We are seasonal, so cast and crew sign up for the October run through the Scream Team. Tell us how you want to work the dark and we reach out when casting opens.

At the Gate

The Rules Inside the Dark

Screening, bag limits, and a no-touch policy that runs both directions keep every scare on these grounds staged and safe. Read the rules once so nothing slows you at the entrance to the three haunts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the actors touch me?

Our actors will not intentionally grab or restrain you, and guests may never touch the actors, props, or scenery. Keep your hands to yourself, and the creatures will do the same.

Can I take pictures or videos?

Photos are welcome in designated areas, but photography, video recording, and flashlights are not permitted inside the haunted attractions. You will have plenty of frightening memories.

Can I bring a bag inside?

Large bags, backpacks, and oversized purses should be left at home or secured in your vehicle. All permitted bags may be subject to inspection before entry.

Are costumes or masks allowed?

Costumes, costume masks, face coverings that conceal your identity, and realistic weapons are not permitted. Leave the scaring to our professional monsters.

Is there security onsite?

Yes. Trained security personnel are onsite to help keep guests, employees, and creatures safe. All guests may be subject to security screening, bag checks, and metal-detector screening before entering.

Can I bring outside food or drinks?

No outside food or drinks are permitted onsite. Food and beverages may be available for purchase inside the Scaregrounds.

Is alcohol allowed onsite?

No. Alcohol is strictly prohibited anywhere onsite, including the parking areas. Guests who appear intoxicated or bring alcohol onto the property may be denied entry or removed without a refund.

What items are prohibited?

Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, pepper spray, and realistic-looking toy weapons, are strictly prohibited. Fireworks, drugs, laser pointers, and other dangerous or disruptive items are also not allowed.

Can I enter if I have a medical condition?

Scarizona includes flashing lights, fog, loud noises, darkness, uneven ground, and intense scares. Guests who are pregnant or have heart, breathing, seizure, mobility, or other serious medical conditions should speak with a healthcare professional before attending. Enter if you dare, but always put your safety first.
